FAQ

  • You should hire a sleep consultant if…

    • You just need someone to hold your hand and tell you what to do. There is so much information out there on infant and toddler sleep that it can lead to feelings of overwhelm and confusion when trying to determine what’s right for your child and for your family. By working with Danielle, you can be sure that those feelings will quickly dissipate as she takes the guesswork out of everything with her client-led approach and customized sleep plans.

    • You need someone to hold you accountable. Worried you’re going to slip back into old habits? Danielle won’t let that happen!

    • You need some emotional support. As a mom of two littles, Danielle understands how much emotion is involved in, well, everything. Sleep training may not always be easy, but when done properly, it is always worth it. Danielle will not only act as a coach, but also as a friend, and will make sure that you see yourself to the finish line by offering you just the right amount of care and support.

  • Danielle works with babies, toddlers and school-aged children ages 10 weeks-10 years.

  • Absolutely not! There is only one sleep training method that is truly synonymous with “Cry it out,” which is called the Extinction Method. Unless a family approaches me saying that this is the method they want to implement, you will likely never see this method written in one of Danielle’s sleep plans. That said, it is important to understand that there is no such thing  as a no-cry sleep training method. Babies and children are no less human than we are, which means that they may experience some big feelings the same way we would during times of change or when learning something new. As parents, our job is to provide our children with the opportunities to practice and hone their skills. When we do this, we are not only offering a chance to master the lifelong skill of sleep, but we are also giving them the gift of doing so confidently and independently!

  • There is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to sleep training. Danielle uses a client-led approach, which means that she presents ALL age appropriate sleep training method options and allow families to choose the one that most aligns with their parenting style. While all methods that Danielle suggests are 100% safe, it is also important that you implement a method that you are comfortable implementing!

  • There is always a chance that you may have to do a bit of troubleshooting after an illness, travel or regression. However, as long as you remain consistent, you should not need to completely re-sleep train.

  • No! Sleep training and night weaning are NOT synonymous. Up to a certain age, feeding overnight can be necessary for some infants. Many babies naturally wean themselves from overnight feeds during the sleep training process.
